O'Reilly and Associates are looking for a few Snort experts to technically review their latest book on Snort and intrusion detection. This book discusses tcpdump, Snort, ACID, SnortCenter, Barnyard and other IDS tools and applications. Technical reviewers should have extensive expertise in all these programs and be able to answer the following questions: * Is the book complete? I.e., are there things it should cover that it doesn't? * Is the book technically accurate? * Is the book well organized? * Is the writing in the book appropriate to the book's audience? (Keeping in mind that you, the reviewer, probably know more about the topic than potential readers.) Potential reviewers should not focus on typos and grammatical errors. They should certainly point out whatever they find, but O'Reilly has copyeditors who read for grammar. The copyeditors can't read for technical accuracy. Interested parties should contact Mike Loukides at mikel () oreilly com. Include in the subject line "Snort book technical review". Kerry J.
