Thanks Chris, got both instances running and monitoring two different interfaces. Rich ------------------------
Try using srvany.exe and instsrv.exe rather than the way you are doing it. Should be able to Google for it. -Chris --- Rich Adamson <radamson () routers com> wrote:Trying to get Win32 snort v2.1 to listen on two nic interfaces as a service. Is this possible, and if so, how? Tried approaches like (two copies of snort, named snort1.exe and snort2.exe): snort1 /service /install -c E:\snort\etc\snort.conf -l e:\snort\Log -A full -i 1 -d -e -X -s snort2 /service /install -c E:\snort\etc\snort.conf -l e:\snort\Log -A full -i 3 -d -e -X -s which results in "Error while adding the Snort service to the Services database. Service already exists." Thoughts? Rich
