Boy, I hate OS wars, but I simply must take issue with this. I've had both Gentoo and FreeBSD on the same box, and there is *no* comparison. FBSD is tons faster. And if you think FBSD's ports system is not as good as portage, you simply aren't familiar with it.

I like Gentoo a *lot*, but I'll use FreeBSD until they solve the speed problem. Then I'll have to reconsider, but I'm not sure I'll change.
