Minimal hardware specification for a 10Mbps network

Hello, I'm trying to identify the hardware prerequisites of a snort sensor that will inspect a maximum of 10 Mbps of traffic. I've searched a lot, but haven't found much information. Can you testify about your successful hardware configurations for sensors based on "old" computers that successfully monitor a 10 Mbps traffic? I'm mostly interested in finding the minimum (and recommended) requirements in terms of CPU speed and RAM size. Many thanks in advance!
