RE: HOW DOES ONE STOP an alert file from being Produced?

Thanks that did work however now I am getting binary files
named: snort.log.1144223288 in /var/log/snort. 
Can you tell me where these files are coming from?

PS: By the way I am using my old snort.conf from 2.1. I don't see any big changes
in the format other that some plugins that are not being loaded.
