You have to tell snort about the rules in snort.conf. it's in the documentation. I know the documentation can be pretty daunting for someone new. On Thu, Apr 2, 2009 at 10:21 AM, craig bowser <reswob10 () gmail com> wrote:
This is a real noob question about rules. If I copy the Emerging Threats rules set into the rules directory (/etc/snort/rules) alongside the other rules (I'm not yet using Oinkmaster), will Snort process them as well or does it just process the default rule files? Thanks.
