I am currently doing some tests with snort and I found out that snort running on a 64bits OS seems to use on average TWICE the memory it uses on the OS’s 32bits version (I’m using Ubuntu Karmic Koala). I did my tests with and without host attribute tables, and with different search-methods: lowmem, ac,… Do somebody get the same results? I have trouble explaining it, any idea? Regards
