The buffer_size variable for the PCAP DAQ module is more of a "best effort" thing than anything else. I call pcap_set_buffer_size() and then it's up to PCAP's implementation on your system to do its best to try to set aside that much memory for packet buffers if it can. I honestly don't have experience with the libpcap codepath for FreeBSD,
thanks. I will check. the STOCK pcaplib doens't do it, so we pull in libpcap 1.1.1.
and I checked to make sure it does have the call.
man pcap_set_buffer_size.

NAME
pcap_set_buffer_size - set the buffer size for a not-yet-activated cap-

tried bytes, didn't help, but
I did notice a bug in the configure options I called, let me try that.

Thanks.

you wrote the daq module? thanks for your work.
