Damien,

You'll need to manually create that dir.  May also want to make a rules
dir as well in /usr/local/snort/ as it's most likely going to be needed.

10.04. No luck. I don't get an etc directory in /usr/local/snort. That

no config file. Am I missing something?

I've tried this a few times. Now I'm thinking of using the ubuntu
package.
