Joel, I think he is talking about the Snort manual. I wouldn't even give it
a second thought, I know I wouldn't from someone that posted a cryptic
message such as he did. Some people :/

Kindest regards,
Michael...

We don't write the guides, they are contributed by the community, which we
are grateful for. If there is an issue with the install guides, please
address them with the authors themselves on the Snort-users mailing lists.

its throwing us 2.9.3.1 noobs a loop...

also, there is a typo in this manual, see if you can find it, yes it's
very important.

No no, the database output is still gone, this must have slipped back

Thank you for reporting it. :)

       I see the snort.conf (2.9.3.1) now includes:

       # database
       # output database: alert, <db_type>, user=<username>
       password=<password>
       test dbname=<name> host=<hostname>
       # output database: log, <db_type>, user=<username>
       password=<password> test
       dbname=<name> host=<hostname>

       Has the output database option been plugged back in?

       Kindest regards,
       Michael...
