Thank you for your answer Tim, I can only assume that you answered my first question on the Meteflows group. I'm getting an error "FATAL ERROR: Can't start DAQ (-1) - pfring_open(): unable to open device 'eth1'. Please use -i <device>!" when I try to start snort using pfring. I thought maybe is was due to the DAQ compile error. I moved snort off the VM, and on the physical host, and disabled selinux. I still get the same error. Would it be due to the default bnx2 driver, or pfring license issue? Any help is greatly appreciated. ethtool -i eth2 driver: bnx2 version: 2.2.3 firmware-version: bc 1.9.6 bus-info: 0000:0f:04.0 supports-statistics: yes supports-test: yes supports-eeprom-access: yes supports-register-dump: yes supports-priv-flags: no On 6/26/13 5:56 PM, "Tim Covel" <tcovel () metaflows com> wrote:
Those configuration options should no longer be necessary, they were used in a much older version of DAQ that was bundled with the pf_ring module. You can take them out or safely ignore the warning: "configure: WARNING: unrecognized options: --with-libpfring-includes, --with-libpfring-libraries" I'll see if we can pull them out of the instructions as well to avoid confusion in the future. -Tim On 06/26/2013 12:13 PM, Avery Rozar wrote:Has anyone had any success compiling DAQ using this switch --with-libpfring-includes, and --with-libpfring-libraries? Using the meteflows site It says to use these switches, but they are unknown to the DAQ ./configure command. And they also do not show up using the ./configure -h. Any help here would be great.
