snort on alix 2d13

hello,
Am a newbie and wanted to try Snort and I was searching the mailing list
for some input info on snort installs on a PC Engines alix boards but
havent found any.

I was using alix2d13 ( alix2d13 = 3 LAN / 1 miniPCI / LX800 / 256 MB / USB
 ) with pfsense as a firewall.
On the available packages menu, snort is listed and can be installed in
just one click.

My question is;
=why is snort so silent about this hardware
=what will be the limitations of using embedded vs non embedded ones on
snort installs.
=if the specs of 2d13 doesnt fit for a snort install, what embedded
hardware out there suits.
