Ok, I guess I should have been a little more direct. Winsnort.com can done
this, and it is well documented on the website. Every 32/64bit supported
Windows OS from Workstation XP - 8.1.x, and from Server 2003 - 2012.

Thanks - but a Google search (which I had done and several others) shows
Snort under Windows 7…which yes 8 Pro has the same underlying bits…but I was
hoping to see if someone had done this and if so did they encounter any
issues or have any problems?  I was hopeful that as a community someone
would be able to validate “hey yes did it no problems - follow the same
steps as you do for Windows 7”

I apologize that my query was so childish.
