changing dump file format

hello,
I am using tcpdump to monitor a network. I am getting the headers of each
packet. I would modify files generated by tcpdump to optimize file's
format. I want to ommit TCP options from the file ( the last information in
a line ) , can you help me: how to do it?
another thing, did you know what is the lehgth of timestamp ( the number of
bytes accorded to the timestamp when generated by libpcap)?
