What was wrong with my -k flag?

Hi.  I submitted a patch implementing captures for an arbitrary length
of time by slightly modifying both tcpdump and libpcap.  I don't
understand why they've been ignored.  Can someone please explain to me
what was wrong with them that they will not be included?
