There was only one page that came up when doing an online search for this product. There was a press release in MQ about announcing "Webmaster Commander" in Oct., of 1999. It also says it only runs on NT so at least that is good for your architecture. I'd ask about the 95/98 machines, though.. I don't know if I'd trust a product that's only been around for 4 months. Consider this against MS Service Packs. You usually wait at least 6 months after it's out before installing it on your machine. I would feel the same would be true with any product in regard to security. PKI is the wave of the future. The problem is that the standards for PKI haven't been decided on, yet. If you choose the wrong product, you lose and have to start all over again with whatever will become the "standard". Also, if you can't prove non-repudiation, there are legal ramifications. --- Your Best Friend, Vamprella --- http://www.vamprella.com -- 1998 SN&R Award -- 1999 Losers Award http://www.TheGirlBox.com -- Get TheGirlBox and give her one less thing to complain about. My boss is stuck on PKI solutions, but they seem a bit out of our range of price and expertise. I have looked at a couple of the applications described in this thread, but through hours of surfing I also found another called WebMaster Commander. I am new to these types of applications. Anyone have any experience with this? The white paper on its web site says "WebMaster Commander is a secure messaging system that provides a bridge between web servers and application systems that contain important information assets ... The product is unique because it addresses all of the elements necessary to integrate web servers and various application platforms: Messaging, Authentication and Access Control, Encryption, Directory Services, Application Enabling." Again, I'm new to this, and this might provide an alternative to PKI. All of our machines are NT/NT or 98 clients. Any experience/ideas? Any problems anyone knows about?*********************************** chickclick.com http://www.chickclick.com girl sites that don't fake it. http://www.chickmail.com sign up for your free email. http://www.chickshops.com boutique shopping from chickclick.com ***********************************From terrw7361 () aol com Fri Mar 03 08:36:15 2000Envelope-to: blueboar () thievco com Received: from [212.71.149.194] (helo=TRILLIAN.DYTRON.CZ) by peace.netnation.com with esmtp (Exim 3.13 #5) id 12Qv3m-00038X-00 for blueboar () thievco com; Fri, 03 Mar 2000 08:36:14 -0800 Received: from 209.155.128.46 [152.174.252.115] by TRILLIAN.DYTRON.CZ (SMTPD32-6.00 EVAL) id AA6C9ACB0372; Fri, 03 Mar 2000 17:38:04 +0100 Message-ID: <0000383d0bd0$00001e86$000009e9@209.155.128.46> To: <Undisclosed Recipients> From: terrw7361 () aol com Subject: News Flash Date: Fri, 03 Mar 2000 11:30:51 -0500 X-Priority: 3 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal Errors-To: mail.bigwave.com (8.8.7/8.9.9) with ESMTP id LAZ44312 from eshu.request.net (eshu.request.net [207.48.132.2]) X-Mailer: from email.com (dial103.aunet.au.ac.th [168.120.10.103]) by mail.au.ac.th (Postfix) with SMTP id 67AC94A8C for 168.120.10.103]) ===================================== == >> FREE $50 Value << == ===================================== ++Start A Proven Home Business Within 72 Hours Now YOU Can Make $300 A Day or More As An Information Publisher Using Microsoft's Foolproof Sales Recipe For Success..... ....And You Never Have To Write A Single Word!
