Sockets: yes, provided it is setup to use sockets and not named pipes. If its a local socket, it should not go out to the network... as per a conversation with microsoft I had a while back...it _should_ stay on the machine itself and not be sniffable elsewhere. If it is a socket, is it sent such that sniffing of the information is possible (i.e. sniffer on a computer in the same network can view data transfer) ?
