Usual policy for most mailing lists requires people to not use auto-replies on list emails.. Most mailing applications allow you to set rules for mailing lists, so that the auto-reply is not triggered in the event of a mailing list arriving with the correct header information set (which webaccsec and all other SecurityFocus lists do), eg: List-Id: <webappsec.list-id.securityfocus.com> List-Post: <mailto:webappsec () securityfocus com> List-Help: <mailto:webappsec-help () securityfocus com> List-Unsubscribe: <mailto:webappsec-unsubscribe () securityfocus com> List-Subscribe: <mailto:webappsec-subscribe () securityfocus com> In short, the best thing you can do is set up a filter, but it's something for everyone to keep in mind when they post to the list. Help each other keep the list clean!
Unfortunately, Mozilla 1.4 doesn't support these extra headers. So I guess I'll just have to suffer everyone's vacation! ;)
I just hope the way I send my messages doesn't bother anyone on the list? Thanks, Simon -- Dedicated to audio/visual and interactive artwork.
