Dear community,

I would like to announce an application security contest.
Three applications are to be attacked with the research
aim of determining how well the usage of security patterns
in java applications increases several security aspects of
these applications. The security contest page with instructions
can be found at
http://java.uom.gr/~halkidis

It is important to note, that we are interested only in software
security issues and thus interested only in software related
attacks.

The name or pseudonym of the attacker who has the highest number of successful attacks will be announced at the
following newsgroups:
comp.lang.java.security
www.securityfocus.com, Web Application Security mailing list
alt.2600
Furthermore, an acknowledgement to the newsgroups and to the attacker with the highest number of attacks will be
included in related scientific publications.
Directions about how to send the reports of the attacks and what should be included can be found at the
security contest page.
The deadline for the reports (end of the contest) is February 20, 2006, 00:00, Thessaloniki time (GMT +02:00)
The e-mail where the reports are to be sent is : sthalkidis () yahoo com
Thanks in advance,
