if Dan is right and it is a switch your out of luck, but if it is an actual hub (which looking at the description and the age makes sense) then you should just be able to see all traffic when you connect you laptop with wireshark to any of the free 10BaseT ports. do you have just one such hub or several connected to each other? multiple devices connected? the system does work, i mean they can communicate you just don't see the data? what is connected to the 10BASE2 side? another hub or a device? bart On Thu, Mar 25, 2010 at 8:01 PM, Spector, Paul <paul.spector () lmco com> wrote:
Bart, Due to specific product configuration, this hub is required. And now I need to capture the data from a 10Base2 LAN connecting to a 10BaseT LAN. Any thoughts? Imagine sharing files, printers, multimedia, and more at speeds of up to 10 million bits per second! Seven 10BaseT ports and one thin coax port make the installation easy--just connect a cable from each computer to the hub and go! Built-in error detection automatically protects the integrity of your data.11 "smart" LEDs instantly reveal your network's line status, data traffic levels, and link states, making troubleshooting easier than ever. Built for rapid expansion, the Workgroup Hub includes both 10BaseT and thin coax uplink ports, allowing you to connect multiple hubs together for virtually unlimited growth. good luck, bart On Thu, Mar 25, 2010 at 7:15 PM, Spector, Paul <paul.spector () lmco com> wrote:I have a Linksys 8 port HUB (Model EWHUB) with a BNC connection. I am attempting to connect the WireShark laptop to the hub to capture data from the BNC connection to the Ethernet connection. My problem is I never see data to the device that is connected to the HUB. I welcome any advice you can provide. Thank you!!
