Thanks for that, as you said using the "2>" worked fine. How did you find that out?

From my testing it seems the change came in around V1.6.0, it worked fine under V1.4.8.

It works if you redirect the STDERR like this:

"C:\Program Files\Wireshark\dumpcap.exe" -D 2> "C:\Program
Files\Wireshark\output.txt"

Note the extra 2 in front of the >.

I don't know why that changed from previous versions.
