Hi All,

Tarnyko kindly sent me an update on the progress of providing an
official GTK+3 bundle on Windows.
I'm not working on Windows nowadays, but I provide Wireshark packages
in Debian unstable built with GTK+3
which work almost perfectly.
If you are interested in running Wireshark with GTK+3 on Windows, too,
please give a try to Tarnyko's bundles
and help him by reporting errors.

Cheers,
Balint

Hi Balint,
Since I saw you posted on GNOME Bugzilla about GTK+3 for Windows, and
I still had your mail address from our previous exchanges, I permit
myself to give you some info on the current state of the bundles that
can be downloaded from
http://www.tarnyko.net/repo/gtk3_build_system/
- GTK+ 3.4.2 can be considered OK. Nobody ever complained about
anything regarding this -relatively old- bundle.
- GTK+ 3.6.4 had to be patched to fix some bugs between our last mails
and today. Here is a list of fixes :
https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gtk-devel-list/2013-March/msg00110.html
I consider it OK now.
- GTK+ 3.8.2 is promising, I produced a pre-beta bundle yesterday,
having working hard to add Broadway support (because 3.8 on win32 is
fast pointless without Broadway).
Here is the last patch : https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=701707
And a usage tutorial : http://www.tarnyko.net/en/?q=node/34
Even if it's still pre-beta, and has no MSVC libs yet, people may find
interesting to try it.
Feel free to post that back to the Wireshark mailing list if you feel
like it. Always available to talk.
Regards,
Tarnyko
