Hi, I'm not sure if update-menus can pick up menu files from /usr/local/, if I read this right: http://www.debian.org/doc/packaging-manuals/menu.html/ But maybe Balint can give the definitive answer. Thanks, Jaap On 03/18/2013 02:41 PM, Brian Hardy wrote:
Hello, I've compiled Wireshark 1.8.6 and have installed the application successfully. I can run wireshark from the command line and can open a pcap file by pointing the file to the location (which is '/usr/local/bin/wireshark' on my system). However, I can not find any information on how to install the menu item for Wireshark. I would like this info for completeness of my installation, even though I can create a link on my panel easily enough. Any help would be appreciated.
