To be fair, IEEE Std 802.3-2012 is 634+780+358+732+844+400 = 3748 pages, so it's about 1000 more pages (">2k" is 
2793), but:

Yeah but I know the 802.3 ones (well, the spec back in around 2009), whereas the 802.11 spec just reminds me how much I 
hate IEEE specs. :)

(though they're better than 3GPP's by a few orders of magnitude, but I digress...)
