Accessing IDB Options from a dissector

Some time ago we wrote a program that converts IIS W3C logs to pcapng format. We also wrote a WS dissector to produce
a neat format like this:

To achieve this, the conversion program needs to pass meta-data to the dissector, and it currently does this via the
first frame of the converted file. This isn't ideal. I'd like to pass the meta-data via a custom IDB Option. I've
looked through README.plugin and README.dissector files in the doc directory of the source tree and I can't find a
function or technique for a dissector to get information from an IDB Option. Is there a standard way to do this?

Thanks and regards...Paul
