Did you say "ISPs think about security"??? Nice article in InternetWeek this week about SBC and NOT thinking about security. Sorry... off topic... My 2 cents is... regardless of whether it's Cable or DSL you are wide open to all sorts of nastiness. I know I'm echoing most of the responses when I say without a router/firewall you are at risk regardless. mike heitz ** sr it manager ** UPSHOT 312-943-0900 x5190 -----Original Message----- From: yannick san [mailto:yannicksan () free fr] Sent: Monday, April 21, 2003 4:45 PM To: Hornat, Charles; security-basics () securityfocus com Subject: Re: Cable Vs. DSL you have to look at how ISPs think about security. Cable or xDSL are the technologies used to connect you to their equipements... the IP you receive is given by the ISP you have choosen.
