Try the Visa AIS (Account Information Security) site which goes into a bit more detail than just the site, but it'll show you what they want from a company taking and holding info. https://www.visa.com/_gds_mod/fb/merchants/gds/ Al. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve H" <simpleman2 () hotmail com> To: <security-basics () securityfocus com> Sent: Friday, August 29, 2003 4:40 AM Subject: Security on E-Commerce Websites
Hello all. I am new to this website and was wondering if any of you could give me some help. I am doing research for an IM class on secure e- commerce websites. I am most interested in learning about how a "secure" transaction takes place. For instance, a credit card number is entered by a consumer to purchase a product, what happens to the cc number? If you could direct me to any other websites or newsgroups, I would appreciate it very much. Please email me at the address listed below with a subject of "secure web sites". Thank you for your time and I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks again. Steve H. simpleman2 () hotmail com --------------------------------------------------------------------------
