Hi Gery I have compiled salient details on 10 Network Enumeration tools, the quality of data that they provide varies greatly between products, but they are worth checking out. Also worthy of note are active fingerprinters and full blown network vulnerability scanners, the latter of which may be overkill for what you desire but they are generally effective at identifying hosts. However, as you are scanning 70 sites bandwidth may be an issue therefore distributed vulnerability scanners may prove preferable Network Enumerators http://www.securitywizardry.com/enum.htm Active Fingerprinters http://www.securitywizardry.com/osfa.htm Network V Scanners http://www.securitywizardry.com/N_scan.htm Distributed Scanners http://www.securitywizardry.com/dist.htm Hope this helps take care -andy Talisker Security Tools Directory http://www.securitywizardry.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nagy Gergely" <gergely.nagy () is-energy hu> To: <security-basics () securityfocus com> Sent: Monday, February 02, 2004 8:41 AM Subject: Network discovery
Hi all, I would like to ask all of you, if you have every used a network discovery tool? I have a network with more than 5000 PC's and more than 70 sites in the country. I would like to create an analysis about the network nodes, line between them, speed of the lines etc. Would it be possible with a
tool
to discover the whole internal network, with routers, gateways and all the important datas? Thanks for all... Gery Ez a level virusellenorzesen esett at! This message was checked against viruses! --------------------------------------------------------------------------
