I would like to know what is regarded as the safest Windows OS as I need to set up a few new computers for system administrators to use and I would like to use a Windows OS as the system administrators who will be using the computers have only experience with Windows. I know that the wisest thing to do wouold be to teach them how to use another OS like OpenBSD but it isn't possible. Thanks. Artturi Lehtiö artturi.lehtio () vidafalt com
The safest MS OS is the one that is not booted up :D But seriously, I think Win2k is pretty good and Win2003 is supposed to be locked down very well. Despite all this, MS systems are still prone to the fundamental issue that MS issues patches at its OWN pace, and not at your pace. Look into Knoppix, it is a Linux distro that boots from a CD and uses KDE to present a very windows-like experience. -- Ranjeet Shetye Senior Software Engineer Zultys Technologies Ranjeet dot Shetye at Zultys dot com http://www.zultys.com/ The views, opinions, and judgements expressed in this message are solely those of the author.
