I recommended etrust 7 at the end of 2002 because I liked the auto update feature; so we purchased it. I installed it in the sales department because they kept getting infected. This was a BIG mistake because the first release (which we got) would turn a brand new (at that time) 1 ghz 256mb machine into a 286 running win2000(this taught me to test before deploying). No kidding; it took 5 hrs to log into the system and another 3 to disable the service. Getting tech support was a joke; and they wanted 80.00 a call to help me solve the problem. After having my sales department down for a day and a half it ran ok until recently. CAI just couldn't keep the virus out of here and we dumped the software for McAfee epolicy. Right now I have messagelabs scanning all incoming/outgoing email, and epolicy taking care of the servers(mail, file, print, application, database), and desktops. With this strategy we haven't had a single virus infections. -----Original Message----- From: Photodemo [mailto:photodemo () dsl pipex com] Sent: Monday, November 08, 2004 3:30 PM To: 'sec-basic list'; 'Sec.Focus FW' Subject: CA eTrust AV Do any of you use CA eTrust Antivirus 7 or 7.1 ? We have 4000 users. Product seems effective but CA support is dreadful. Cannot get simplest of answers. I have a senior engineer teaching their Helpdesk about the product. Anybody have good or bad experience of this product ? Thanks in advance. ______________________________________________________________________ This email has been scanned by the MessageLabs Email Security System.
