Hello Roger-This feature was broken in all of the 1.0x versions of Firefox and Thunderbird. It works great in Firefox 1.5 . You will want to manually uninstall version 1.07, and download/install 1.5 from http:// www.getfirefox.com. Going forward, the update feature actually works. Good luck!

I've been perplexed since the whole Firefox/Thunderbird popularity crazewith one question: Why can't Firefox and Thunderbird find their own updates?I have Firefox 1.07. I went to Tools, Options Advanced, Software Update,Check Now. It said no updates found, when 1.50 is waiting to be downloaded. I have Thunderbird 1.0. I did the same...went to Tools, Options, Advanced, Software Update, Check Now. It said no updates found, when 1.07 is waiting to be downoaded. Maybe I'm doing something wrong...you know...expecting the Check forUpdates feature to work when I click on it. So, open source is supposedto kick Microsoft's butt and offer me a secure alternative when the simple click update features don't even work. I think I've already complained here before, but I would have thought this problem would have been fixed in the intervening six months. </Vent off> Roger ******************************************************************* *Roger A.
