From memory, on NAV, I used to have a share on the network that had all the
downloaded defs in them so that clients could update from the central server, so you could check via the filename and the properties of the file I guess. There's a folder on the client too-not sure where though. -----Original Message----- From: listbounce () securityfocus com [mailto:listbounce () securityfocus com] On Behalf Of Micheal Espinola Jr Sent: Tuesday, February 26, 2008 4:08 AM To: security-basics () securityfocus com Subject: Re: Mcafee and Norton Anti Virus definition version IIRC, no. You will need to look at the version info of the definition file itself. On Fri, Feb 22, 2008 at 3:50 PM, Abhinav <kabhinav () gmail com> wrote:
Hello List I am trying to programmitically find out the virus definition version of the anti -virus software installed. The two anit-virus we use in our company are from Norton and Mcafee. Is there a registry key/or windows api/WMI call that I can use which can provide me this information? Thanks -Abhinav
