Re: Legality of warnings

I recently saw an article on comp.security.unix concerning the need for posting warnings (i.e. of the don't log in w/o authorization variety) at the login prompt. I vaguely remember a way to do this on AIX- some file which contains the login message displayed on the console and when the system is serving telnet. 1) Does anyone remember the name of this file? 2) Is there an equivalent file in SunOS 4.1.3 and Solaris 2.3? Thanks!
I don't know about SunOS 4.1.3 but there is a file in SYS V Rel 4 (Solaris 2.3 is based on this) called /etc/issue that is sent to the terminal before the login: prompt. It is ususally sent to the console and network connections, but not necessarily sent to serial connections (I'm still trying to figure that one out). Hope this helps. /----------------------------------------------------------------------\ | I read recently that human beings use only 15% | Jaime A. Viehweg | | of their brains capacity.
