Supposedly, removing "secure" from the ttytab entry for the console should prevent booting single user or other nonstandard without providing the root password.
If /etc/security/passwd.adjunct exists, you'll get the same behaviour. Neither will protect against the 'alternate' init attack. (boot -i /hack/my_init.) Jim
