From: jamie () dilbert multiverse com (Jamie)
Date: Sat, 25 May 1996 21:59:32 -0400
Solution ======== chmod /dev/openprom 400 (readable only by root).
I have a 2.5 system - the default mode is: jamie@dilbert /jamie: ls -Ll /dev/openprom 21:51 crw-r----- 1 root sys 0, 0 Nov 02 1995 /dev/openprom and the same on my 2.4 system: jamie@dogbert% ls -Ll /dev/openprom crw-r----- 1 root sys 0, 0 Feb 03 1995 /dev/openprom but on my 4.1.4 system: $ ls -l /dev/openprom crw-r--r-- 1 root 70, 0 May 28 1994 /dev/openprom
