Anyone know of a good replacement for use with an APC BackUPS ?
:(

for APC's on Linux, apcupsd-3.3.0 is good and appears safe enough (the
only files it ever touches are /etc/apcupsd.conf and /etc/apcupsd.status),
but it's binary only.

Actually there is apcd using smart mode, reporting status info and being
able to chain daemons and shut down more than one machines. Source IS avail,
a safe bet is the Debian/Linux source tree all around the world, for example:

  ftp://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/dists/hamm/main/source/admin/apcd_*

Worths well the price (zero $$$) and you have the source. And you
use unix. Need I say more?
