Seeking trainers for law enforcement

Hey there folks, All too many of us in the information security/computer/security research community have generously offered to help out our local constabulary with our computer/network/cyber/* knowledge, only to get slapped down with some arrogant bullshit from some cynical flatfoot about how if you're not a LEO you can't help, or we'd love to but blah blah blah. Well, if you're so inclined, and if would like to do some public service training (forensics, pen testing and/or basic infosec) for law enforcement officers and analysts, I can connect you with some stakeholders themselves (in the northeastern US) who are ready to listen and really want some training and help. I've been working with a good guy at a respected agency who has a pretty important job. He and his team are increasingly dependent upon cyber resources they don't possess, or at which they realize they could be better. He said that if I could get him some people to help train him and his crew he'd be very grateful and he'd take the help. The organization may be able to get you T&E, and they'll certainly be nice to you, AND you'll get the satisfaction of providing your community with a highly valuable service that may well keep people safer and even save lives. If you're interested, please read this post: http://nickselby.com/articles/technology/index.htm?a=1819 then follow the instructions. Note: you need a clean criminal history, and they'll be a-checkin'. Give me some basic info about you and a link to some of your work. At some point, if it looks like you're a good candidate, I'll get back in touch and I'll need your full, real name and DOB but I can send you my PGP info so you can send it, or we can speak on the phone. Note: I don't get anything other than the rewards described above (actually I'm not even getting T&E, so there). And I won't run interference. I'm collecting the list of people and their particulars, then delivering it personally to the unit commander; from there it's all him and you unless one or both of you ask me for more help. Thanks in advance! Nick
