has been sentenced to more than two years in prison for using
someone's Social Security number to get a car loan for a friend,
authorities said today... Ame-Cherie Denise Thomas, 34, of Birmingham
was sentenced to two years in prison on one count of aggravated
identity theft. She also must serve five additional months plus five
months home confinement for one count of misusing a Social Security
number...

Authorities said Thomas worked in the Birmingham Teleservice Center,
answering calls from the public to the Social Security
Administration's customer service number. In that job, she had access
to databases. In April 2009, she used that database to obtain a Social

application to Tom Williams Imports. The friend was seeking a loan of
more than $38,000 to buy a 2008 BMW 328I. She also gave the friend a
phony college diploma and a fake pay stub.
