Description

The Office of Information Technology is seeking applications for a
full-time Manager of IT Security with responsibilities that include:
leadership role for campus IT security and data privacy; suggest and
implement desktop security, policies, procedures and guidelines;
communicate and educate IT staff and the general campus community
regarding computer and network security and peer-to-peer file sharing;
act as a liaison between IT and campus stakeholders.

This position will also perform the following operational duties:
develop procedure to monitor and secure the network and servers; review
firewall rules, IDP rules and other access lists; review security logs
and document security and privacy violations; monitor security
discussion lists and websites. Finally this position will lead in the
definition and implementation of an effective identity management
system, as well as, research, review and recommend technologies to
enhance the Colleges IT security.

A bachelor degree is required. A certification recognized by the
security industry is a plus. Additional requirements include: experience
in network, server and desktop security, and identity management in a
heterogeneous environment; experience managing firewall rules, intrusion
detection & prevention policies, switch & router-based access-control
lists; experience working with LDAP-enabled enterprise directories;
experience with commercial identity management products is a plus;
experience with defining, documenting and implementing security best
practices; experience in higher education is a plus; ability to manage
and operate network security systems; knowledge working with security
settings on server and desktop OSes; ability to excel in verbal and
written communications; ability to work alone or in a collaborative
group with a wide range of constituents; demonstrated initiative and
good judgment; and the ability to coordinate, organize and
follow-through on projects to meet established deadlines.
