Did u ask our experts as well? ----- Original Message ----- From: The EDUCAUSE Security Constituent Group Listserv <SECURITY () LISTSERV EDUCAUSE EDU> To: SECURITY () LISTSERV EDUCAUSE EDU <SECURITY () LISTSERV EDUCAUSE EDU> Sent: Fri Feb 20 10:42:27 2009 Subject: [SECURITY] SharePoint Hello Everyone, We have a request to set up a single account in SharePoint that is intend to be used as a shared account for the distribution of documents with non-sensitive content. Are you aware of any concerns or technical risks of shared accounts in SharePoint? Obviously, we have the general risks of not knowing which user of the shared account is responsible for a given action in the system, but assuming the account is locked down to just be a document sharing repository, would this request raise any strong concerns for you? Thanks for your insights, Regards, Quinn R. Shamblin Information Security Officer GCFA, CISSP, PMP University of Cincinnati (513) 556-0803 quinn.shamblin () uc edu
