[cid:image001.jpg@01C9935D.56A69890] CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS The 2009 CIPSS-DC Conference will be held July 12 - 14 at the University of Richmond Jepson Alumni Center. Hosted by the University of Richmond School of Continuing Studies and Information Services, this conference will provide management, academic and technical tracks for attendees. Focus of the conference will include the use of IP based technologies to enhance the mitigation of security and disaster challenges. The call for speakers will expire on Sunday March 15th, 2009. Each presentation will be one hour in length. Multimedia and wired/wireless Internet services will be available to the presenters. Approved presenters will not be required to pay the registration fee and can attend each conference function at no additional cost. Presentation proposals should be limited to 200 words or less. Suggested topics to be considered are listed below. Please submit all questions and proposals for review to Chip Greene at cgreene2 () richmond edu. Management Track: * Ownership/Leadership Challenges in Deployment * Putting a Price on Risk * Insource vs. Outsource of Security and DR Functions * The IS Role in Disaster Services Academic Track: University of Richmond School of Continuing Studies Faculty Speakers Only * Topics in the Masters Degree in Disaster Sciences Program * Emergency Management Discussion * IP Technology as Applied to Disaster Sciences Technical Track: * IP Based Video, Audio and Alerting Solutions * Using Web 2.0 in security and disaster events * Technical Deployment Successes and Creative Uses of the Technology All presentation proposals with a focus on using technology to solve security and disaster related issues will be considered.
