We use it here and it has greatly helped us with visibility over malware as
well as track and eradicate otherwise invisible malware. As Rand said, you
can see the whole process, from the initial download, to the connection to
the C&C servers. Additionally, our other IPS confirm the malicious traffic
after the infection and out enterprise AV console either shows problems or
shows the host as dropped from the management console.

Are any of the people using PA running the wildfire subscription. We are
curious, how the results are in real world performance to see whether it
might be justified.

+1 Palo Alto. Replacing our ASA's this summer. For the price and
features
you can't go wrong.

PalAlto is really cool stuff. Pretty impressive in our 550 user

Only caution I would throw out is there were some recent updates that have
caused some pretty major funk. End result is I had to roll back a couple
revisions to a known stable release.

Having said that, in their defense, they are making some significant
changes
from ver. 4 to ver. 5 so I would suspect a bit of bugginess AND the bugs
were NOT show stopping, firewall stops working, kind of bugs.

Hi Brenda,

We are still using ASA but have recently purchased the PAN solution. We
might possibly phase out the ASA if the PAN works out as what others say.

For now, the PAN is being use for internal visibility of the network only.

Thanks,

Steve
