RE: Blitzkrieg Server -- For Real?!

As soon as I see "... counter-attack supposedly viraly infects the entire
network ..." I shudder. Makes me think of more secure system than
disconnecting your computers from the network - having your company
litigated out of existence.

It's just amateur marketing as found in most resumes. The page with the
Signal article is technically obscure, the 'SPS' page looking for
security assessment jobs is by a (inactive reserves?) Marine sergeant,
not an information security officer. These guys are just starting out,
and are new to computer security.

A theoretical physicist working out of his house and a retired manager
is not going to be able to build a reliable IDS system on their own, as
the very experienced elite on this list agree on the lack of total
trustability of IDS and the most questionable issue of reactive IDS
systems. There are no obvious records of involvement of the theorist
with IDS, firewalls, or computer security lists on the Internet.

It's better to use a company comprised of experienced information
security officers (such as Fortified) for security assessments than a
gunman.

     Hello Wizards,

Came across these links on CNN and the May98 issue of Signal
Magazine.

     see:
     http://www.us.net/signal/CurrentIssue/May98/make-may.html

     or the vendor's site

     http://www.fvg.com/

Article describes new technology developed by a Quantum Physics
theorist. It's called the Blitzkrieg Server, and seems to be a
highly
advanced AI engine and counter-attack engine for network security.

The counter-attack supposedly viraly infects the entire network
that
a
hacker originates from.....somemhow. Seems to have sparked some
interest from the CIA and such.

Anyone else heard of this? Seems like pure hype based on fiction to

me....Is this pure marketing smoke, or is there some sort of unreal

counter-attack technology bundled into this product?
