Are you sure? I'd noticed that if the computer using the napster software is just masquerading, then no one can download from you - my theory had been that connections from the outside were not getting sent through properly. They were able to initiate an attempt to transfer the file, but it never actually went. I had also noticed this with icq and aim file transfers. Since I've set up NAT using iptables under a linux 2.4 kernel, this has not been a problem anymore. <EOL> Tib On Sun, 18 Feb 2001, Darren Reed wrote:
I'm sure many people here have had to deal with napster at one level or another but today I discovered something rather unsettling, as a napster user - a person can receive a file from you whereby your client makes the outgoing connection. What irritates me is that your client is being active rather than passive in an action that you haven't initiated. _______________________________________________ firewall-wizards mailing list firewall-wizards () nfr com http://www.nfr.com/mailman/listinfo/firewall-wizards
