bash/tcsh/zsh/ash/whatever are *also* critical to a Linux system

MySQL and PostgresQL aren't; should their bugs count as Linux bugs?
And should we count each advisory from Red Hat, then Debian and then SuSE
as a separate bug?

Public's point of view, Linux means the kernel, the shell, X, Gnome/KDE,

There's problem when you get creative with your bug tallying method. If you
count MySQL's bugs you should count SQL Server bugs too.

I'm looking forward to read that Microsoft-sponsored report to see their
methods.
