Reminds me of a DR I did once.

The guy had his backups in a fireproof safe, thought he'd be fine.

But they had a flood. Salt water. Wrecked his computer, ruined his
backups.

I took the pancakes out of the jackets, washed them in water, then a bit
of alcohol, put the pancakes in a new jacket, and successfully recovered
100%

The National Archives and Records Administration wants to hire someone to help restore and recover data from
computers that were damaged during Hurricane Katrina.

In a recent solicitation, NARA said the winner of the firm, fixed-price contract will recover data from 40 computers
in New Orleans—six from the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office and 34 from the District Attorney’s Office.

The computers have been exposed to flood waters, mold, mud and, possibly, sewage or petrochemicals, NARA said.

NARA is requesting quotes for the one-year contract, the notice said, and vendors must respond by April 11.
