OK, so it is not commonly used (yet) but earlier this year we saw some 
evidence that just maybe the spammers were already thinking about, and 
experimenting with, ways to break OCR'ing as an anti-spam method...

Or they could use the same methods used in Captchas, making the graphics 
almost unreadable. 

I already find most spam unreadable.
