WTF are they thinking? I think they must have taken their stupid pills that morning....

I'll say it again - people with no expertise in the antivirus field aren't
necessarily stupid. They could be quite bright, with their expertise in
some other field, such as farming, or calligraphy. I know that when I
first started growing vegetables, I did some things that were, with
hindsight, not a good idea (for example, planting onions not in rows but
in an area-filling pattern). But that didn't make me stupid, and after a
few years, I learned enough about the craft to be able to grow great
crops.

If the people who did this poor review keep trying for a few years, and
get good advice from the literature (like I did with onions), they'll
improve, and might eventually produce a useful report. Many other
magazines have done extremely poor product tests, even when they have
words like "virus" or "security" in their titles.
