You could always write a script to query the registry for th patch status. Look in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows XP\SP3\(KB#)\Filelist also, make sure you check the version of the dll by querying the attributes of the file itself, as windows has been known to write the registry info then crap out before overwriting the actual file -JP _______________________________________________ Fun and Misc security discussion for OT posts. https://linuxbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/funsec Note: funsec is a public and open mailing list.
