  IANAL, but I would tend to think that the natural and obvious defense
for these kinds of IP lawsuits, would be a countersuit for the reverse
engineering of a licensed product to begin with?  If, for example,
someone provided a brilliant OS patch for MS Vista and then tried to sue
them for rolling out anything similar...  Wouldn't that subject the
company to litigation for having delved too deeply into the Vista code?
